It's never been easier to be an autodidact, but first you have to reacquaint yourself with the mastery process and the ability to notice interest/curiosity โ two things that come naturally to children, but which get snuffed out by helicoptering, over-scheduling & discrete tasks

I agree. Nearly all the skills Iโve mastered over the years itโs because Iโve thought, I wonder what happens if I do this and then just done it. Mostly, this has been in the field of enterprise IT infrastructure because that is my career, but is true in many other areas as well.
Someone once asked me how I got so good at so many areas of IT, and I told them, โItโs because Iโve broken literally anything that can be broken and then had to fix it.โ Being curious leads to poking things until they break. Fixing them leads to knowledge and mastery.
