How Much Should the Public Know About Who Has the Coronavirus?

“Experts” want to keep data to themselves so they can (what they see as) constructively lie. This always backfires, though, once people discover they are lying. Then they are not trusted anymore. How does this help, exactly? It has not so far.

I wonder how much of this lying is just to conceal lack of expertise rather than their stated goals, anyway.
