Mil veterans and journalists who cover this stuff have been shouting about armed, right-wing extremism for years. The boogaloos can be traced, with some twists and turns here and there, to Desert Storm vet and Bronze Star Medal recipient Timothy McVeigh.

Exactly. It didnโt start on 4Chan in 2015, which is how many journalists report it. In recent times, though, it goes much further back than even McVeigh. In reality, it all started with the John Birch Society and the so-called โPatriotโ movement that began in the late 1950s. This all led, eventually, to Timothy McVeigh and his ilk.
While 4Chan and its denizens have had some input, a very short synopsis of the real history is above. History is deeper than most journalists can imagine or will bother to research.
