I think the fundamental rot at the core of our iteratively more dysfunctional culture is just dishonesty. We're meant to personally integrate explicit falsehoods with the expectation that they'll make us more ethical/likely to err in preferable directions. This. Will. Backfire.

Great insight. Thus, we have woke/cancel culture, which is really about competition over good jobs.
We have #metoo, which became about competition over jobs and suppressing dating market competition.
We had that wearing masks and social distancing was racism and xenophobia. Now, we have that disliking TikTok and its feeding data to the CCP is racism and xenophobia.
See a common theme? I do. Mason picked up on exactly whatโs going on here โ under liberalism, we are supposed to assimilate absolute falsehoods for the cause. But fuck the cause if I am supposed to believe and promulgate codswallop. Iโd rather the cause die than degrade myself to that level.
