Variant of something that a fitness guru I follow says:
Life is too short to be fat and weak.
You owe yourself and the world more than that. Don’t like this, don’t make being a fat weak loser your identity. Just shut up.

the rumors youโve heard are true: being vaxxed whips pic.twitter.com/oAXvNoNXIG

Casey, you just killed at least 50 grammas with that statement.
Seriously, though, getting vaxxed rules. Fuck the anti-vaxxers and the libs who insist nothing must change even after you get the jab. Things changing for the better is most of the point of getting the fucking vaccine in the first goddamn place.
i often hear people saying that CRT is misunderstood, but this thread was a simple, easy summary from a CRT supporter that helped clarify no, we're not misunderstanding it. https://t.co/DJ6vzLTTqF

Agree with Aella. Intellectually, CRT is a pile of crap that should’ve never left academia. It had some use there. Anywhere else, not so much.
It’s so bizarre when people claim that programs like universal healthcare and free pre-school and such are impossible in the US when countries with much less wealth than the US do this as a matter of course.
And no, they aren’t talking about it being (just) politically impossible. What is wrong with their brains?
Drag Me To Hell Has The Best Horror Ending.
Maybe not the best ever, but certainly really fucking great. Such a solid movie. Part of is that Alison Lohman does an outstanding job of being a sympathetic character. Ninety-five percent of us would make the same choice she did that brought on the curse. We all know how easily we’d sell our souls and that’s exactly why the movie works.
The worst movements to come out of the US in the past 20 years are the anti-vaxxers and the Fat Acceptance movement.
Those two causes probably have harmed more people than any others over that time, outside of politicians anyway.
A clarifying realization I had recently is that when rich liberalsโ idea of a hot person is someone who looks exactly 39 forever because they believe in their souls that those are the prime child bearing years https://t.co/zaaAWaj0y4

I know he’s partly joking, but I wonder if this also has something to do with a lot of liberals seeing women under 30 as children (but, strangely, only women, not men).
I think this tendency also has to do with the fact that you’re most often hearing this claptrap from the most educated, most out-of-touch bits of the population, who spent their prime years in college and grad school, living like a kid off the parental largesse and wealth until they were 32.
Meanwhile, out in the real world, most people who don’t have fancypants lives are working hard jobs from the age of 16, having real experiences, and are not the grown children that the “elites” in fact are. Bet that’s a lot of it.
A close friend of mine who is an intelligent young woman has been suggesting I should go ahead and buy myself one of those new mid-engine Corvettes as she knew I was interested in them. She frames it as enjoying one’s life while one can (with the not-so-subtle subtext that I am as old as the hills and might kick off soon, so better do it now).
As someone who supports feminism I ask you, dear readers, what kind of feminist ally would I be if I were to deny the wishes, the dreams, of a discerning and bright woman such as she is? It would be a moral tragedy, most assuredly. It should not be done.
Therefore, ethically speaking, the only correct answer is to purchase a mid-engine Corvette. It is indeed the feminist thing to do.
I know I do not feel fear and anxiety in any sort of normal way, but people who are vaccinated holding to all the same restrictions as pre-vaccination…what are you thinking?
Why did you bother to get jabbed at all?
Traffic light travel plan will let new Covid variants into UK, scientists warn.
This is always going to be true. Covid is never going away and there will always be variants. That’s why we have vaccines.
The alternative is turning your country into a penitentiary, which more than a few places seem happy enough to do. Why more residents aren’t rebelling I have no idea.
I guess it’s good that the anti-vaxxers and the anti-maskers are the same people as then one doesn’t have to attempt to answer the question of which group is stupider.
Working retail, helpdesk or fast food I think makes you much more misanthropic. It certainly did me.
Before spending more than a few years on helpdesk I was already a bit of a misanthrope. But after that, it became so much worse.
Do not recommend.
A big study on COVID remote work using objective data on 10k IT professionals finds pretty bad outcomes for all. The charts tell the story: productivity fell 20%, but output was stable because people worked 30% more hours. Also employees got less coaching. https://t.co/pIVvRbNeCN pic.twitter.com/3KscNWZVoH

Studies about things like this during a global pandemic where people are both traumatized and have bad childcare arrangements tell you just about nothing except that people are traumatized and have bad childcare arrangements.
They want to burn the largest most freely accessible libraries, one of the few successful utopian projects of the 21st century, to imprison anyone involved in building and maintaining them.

The huge elite priority now is getting the data genie back in the bottle. It’s mostly already been done for them by corporations (Google, Facebook, Amazon, et al.) but where that has not been practical and achievable, it’ll be done directly by arms of the state.
Most people misunderstand, though. This has nothing at all do with money. That’s just the cover story, part of the flimflam to obfuscate the power relations occurring. It’s truly about who gets to know what and when.
