Pac Lin

Hot For Pac-Man: Oui Magazine 1982.

This is one of my favorite things Iโ€™ve read lately. It also shows why archiving is important, even of โ€œsmutโ€ and other seemingly irrelevant items, because culture is culture and the present is not a good judge of what will be, uh, revealing in the future.

Also, I am 95% sure my dad had that issue of Oui magazine, though I wouldnโ€™t have seen it in 1982. It was probably more around 1986 when my parents got divorced and no one cared where anything was anymore. I remember the woman on the front holding the the flower, though I didnโ€™t really care about Pac-Man as a game at all then or now.

Interestingly, they spell Annabella Lwinโ€™s (of Bow Wow Wow) name wrong on the cover. If thatโ€™s an interview with her, Iโ€™d like to read it, but could not find a copy of it online. Even if itโ€™s just photos of her, Iโ€™d like to see them for that real 1980s feel.

But I could buy that copy of Oui here if I really wanted to.
