Why do liberals think “arbitrary” and “socially determined” are synonymous with “easily changeable” and “doesn’t have much meaning?”

It seems easy to discover that the social and the so-called “arbitrary” can be and usually are very difficult indeed to alter, so much so that in many cases it might be easier to modify our very genetics than to change some sociocultural tilt.
