It's easy to deny the tradeoffs of a covid mitigation policy when none of them fall on you specifically. Too much of that happened the entire pandemic.

Yeah. So much of it was and still is, “If the policy helps me, it’s good, and if it hurts someone else, too fucking bad!” That’s true of both sides — lockdown lifers and “no restrictions ever” types. No one — and I mean no one — was really thinking about the community aspect at all. It was the usual, “I got mine, suckers, fuck you!”
