another aspect of seasonal depression for me:
landscapes where *everything is dead for six months* deeply unsettle me.
i spent my early years in Florida and Georgia and I just cannot adapt to "not seeing a bug or a flower for half of the year."

I am the same. There is just something deeply, deeply wrong about a dead landscape. Do not like it, cannot handle it.
