Goddamn, why is the Ukrainian army considering any counteroffensive now? Thatโs also bad strategy. They shouldnโt go making similar mistakes to the Russians. Theyโve been in combat for a month. There will not be significant relief. Those fighting are exhausted and need a break.* A counteroffensive starts playing into the Russian capabilities and totally against what the Ukrainians can currently be good at.
The Ukrainians should continue their harassing and supply line attacks, fight opportunistically, using mainly guerrilla methods, and let the Russians continue to fight poorly and exhaust themselves. A counteroffensive might sound macho and cool on paper, but itโs a total mistake, especially now.
*Pretty good studies show a soldierโs combat effectiveness starts going sharply downhill after about a month in. This is why I was laughing at the Russian Army due to their near-100% personnel commitment. Totally unsustainable.
