you have to make an actual argument with actual data about why your specific claim is going to work, you can't just say "if this works, it'll change the world!"

This is the problem I have with a lot of liberal/left fantasizing about the world.
“If we did this, it’d be amazing!” Ok, sure, but was Zero Covid every likely? Even possible? No, not on a worldwide scale. So why spend so much useless time obsessing over it when we could’ve been doing actually useful things and torturing far fewer people?
