This week, I was asked to explain to a judge & some lawyers how it's possible for the law & morality to come apart. Last week, I read half-baked thoughts about AI "sentience" from Google's finest.

I frequently amuse myself by going on Hacker News to watch those mooks talk about how philosophy is worthless and useless, and observing how they then spend whole 500+ comment threads retreading poorly very old philosophical ideas without understanding them at all or having any clue what they are talking about.

It’s good for some laughs, at least.
