I think Stephenson’s Anathem is a great book, and his best, even if I suspect he didn’t really understand Husserl all that well. But Husserl is really fucking hard to understand, so who can blame him? At least he was grappling with the ideas very competently. That’s so much better than what most people do.

Anathem is one of my favorite books, even though I’m not a Stephenson fan. He railgunned that fucker out of the park, though.
