I do constantly wonder why people believe the lie that “We must take away everything you could do before for ‘security?'” This argument doesn’t even seem minimally convincing to me — perhaps because I understand how computers work and exactly what can be done with them (and what cannot).

But it convinces the commoners and is extremely effective propaganda, so it’s repeated ceaselessly. Even by people who should know better.
