Even It Out

I think one of the problems with Twitter et al. is that it revealed that most people are incredibly boring, and donโ€™t actually think much. Worse, pervasive social media presences showed that this was true even for the โ€œsmartโ€ ones. It demonstrated that most people are as good at systems thinking as the average cow is at winning the high jump event at the Summer Olympics.

We now know too much about everyone and as a result of that knowledge it became glaringly obvious that most people are very dull โ€” in many different senses of that term.
