More Double Standards

Itโ€™s not just in my head that I get treated vastly different by women now, and vastly differently than my partner gets treated. Hereโ€™s the proof. A few weeks ago I went to an optometrist to get my eyes checked. She was young (28ish?) and cute and was obviously attracted to me. During the course of the exam, completely unnecessarily, she touched me 6-8 times. My arms, shoulders, my leg. I have very nice muscles so I understand โ€” even though as a man, I could never get away with that.

My partner (a woman, to be clear) went to the same optometrist and the doc did not touch her even once during the course of the exam. My partner and and I do not share the same last name so the optometrist would not have had a way of knowing we were associated (I doubt sheโ€™d be checking addresses).

Also to be clear, I did not feel harassed or even bothered by the optometristโ€™s casual touches. She was fun and cute so could pull it off. But that never would have happened to me a few years ago and didnโ€™t happen to my partner.

Interesting how we have double standards on male/female behavior that no one can admit, though.
