Hated It

A lot of people hate IT because they see us as useless “computer janitors” who for some unknown reason make 5-10x as much as they do. But then many of them try to enter this field and can’t cut it.

Funny to see when it happens.

The Real Disorder

Only in America could anyone believe that controlling what you eat and exercising regularly is harmful “disordered eating” and is detrimental to your body, respectively.

WHAT KIND OF HORRIBLE FUCKING CRACK ARE WE SMOKING

Speaking

Do men just recognize good men? What kind of sorcery is this?

Part of if is that even terrible guys are — for a little while anyway — going to be on their best behavior around women in which they are interested.

Another part is that many women are extremely delusional about how they can “fix” the bad boys that many of them seem to love nearly unreservedly (I guess because they are exciting?). This never works. I have not seen this “fix” happen even once. So they end up with some unemployed meth-addled loser who doesn’t have any real future and doesn’t even like them.

Meanwhile, I and most other men can sense exactly who these guys are in a thirty second conversation and often much less.

And no, it’s not that I (or other men, except incels) think these women should be with them instead or that I or we’d be better for them. Frankly, I don’t want to be with someone whose ideal partner is a meth-addicted clown.

A lot of women go on and on about how much they care about their safety but then choose an objectively dangerous mega-loser who is going to perhaps kill them. Many men (including me) look at this and it just seems freakin’ crazy to us. I still do not understand how that works and I think I never will.

Twitter

Because it now requires login and I refuse to create an account, I just stopped visiting anything on Twitter. I don’t really miss it.

Elon bought it (and was permitted to finance it) to kill it anyway, and to do so with plausible deniability. And that’s exactly what’s happening. The plutes and powerful fucking hated it and its destruction was the plan all along.

Future Tensor

This, though, is my favorite song of the past five years if I had to pick. It feels like the future. And it’s deep with allusion and infused with the hyper-reality of our age. It’s not beholden to anything but floats above it, relentless in both its embrace of the inevitable and the critique of it having to be. And it does it all with a buoyant insouciance that no other artist can match.

Oath

It’s only in the new 10-minute Taylor’s Version of “All Too Well” (not the original album version), but the “You kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath” line is such great fucking writing. I rarely envy what others have penned because I am a damn fine writer myself, but that is such an evocative line that I wish I’d written it.

It’d only work in a song but damn does it ever. Because of misogyny and that she started out in country, Swift has been accused of being talentless by pure mediocrities, but she’s written (or co-written) more great songs than just about anyone alive.
