Oh, fuck you, lady. You can always tell when dumbasses live somewhere that never gets all that hot or humid. And where it cools down at night.
Put her in Florida or Texas or Southern California and she’d be begging for AC. I hate those clowns so much.
That’s a person who has never sweated through the night, with no power and then looked up wet bulb temperatures the next day.
Or been in a desert with no A/C (but fans).
Showers and cross ventilation can only do so much.
I didn’t have A/C as a kid for a while in the middle of a Florida summer. Suicide felt like a real option.
I grew up on the Gulf coast with no AC but there was almost always some kind of breeze and you could leave windows open. I actually don’t really remember feeling hot as a kid (I have more memories of being cold because we had almost no heating).
Gainesville… whole ‘nother story, the heat was brutal and the air was just muggy and heavy all the time. AC was a necessity
Funny you mention no heating. The same in most of the houses in or near Lake City that I lived in as a kid. AC most of the time, but no heat. Jalousie windows and no heat == bad times.
