Yes, yes, houses were smaller in 1960, insert the usual economist blah blah bullshit here. The point is that it was far easier to buy a house in 1960. And I can’t buy part of a fucking house. No matter what the econs say, it’s just a more difficult time for younger people.

That’s pretty brutal, but about what I expected.
I didn’t realize it until long after I should have, but the male incel and the female Fat Acceptance losers are two sides of the same vile coin.
No matter any of their overt claims, both movements exist to declare this: “People who aren’t attracted to me should still sleep with me anyway.”
Foul in either case.
My son took a Math for liberal Arts course at Community College after being experimented on all through K-12. It was the best math course he had ever taken. Focused on personal finance math (hello compound interest!), probability and statistics and logic. Amazing prof too.

I’ve taken a similar course. It was great!
In that class I learned Excel skills (and I was already decent with Excel) that I use in the business world to this day. People notice and call me an “Excel guru.” Not really, but the class taught me more about Excel in four months than I’d learned in two decades of using it prior. It also did a good job of covering various types of elections and how they work mathematically, compound interest, probability, some logic, and statistics. It was not nearly as basic as I thought it’d be when I signed up for it, partially because it attempted to teach an extremely wide range of topics to a fairly deep beginner level.
The course was infinitely superior to any math course I had in high school and actually connected the sterile math to the real world. I will never be a math guru and have absolutely no interest in that, but if any of my math instruction in high school or middle school had been like that course, I would’ve done far better.
Alas, I will never understand the quadratic equation, though.
People have asked me how I dealt with being hungry while losing a lot of weight (~27% of my body weight). Sure, I was sometimes extremely hungry.

Mostly agreed. There is a general troubleshooting ability, however, and most people don’t have this. I do, and that means I can often solve problems in other domains. I’m brought in to do that fairly often and am almost always successful.
However, there is such thing as deep domain expertise. And it matters, too. In my own fields I can glance at, understand, and solve problems my own junior team members cannot comprehend much less solve in weeks or months. And that’s mostly the result of 25+ years of experience.
