Nuking

For the first time, ChatGPT made me laugh. I donโ€™t usually talk with it (rather, I tell it to give me something), and Iโ€™ve disabled most of its suggestions and conversationalness. But I started it in this case. And it gave me a response that made me actually laugh out loud. Iโ€™m in green above. Below that is ChatGPT.

โ€œThe โ€˜nuke the doghouseโ€™ era is over.โ€

Thatโ€™s good stuff.

  1. I’ve reached AI overload and pretty much can’t stand the idea of using for anything (I’ll probably get over it but the tone and bad info are infuriating).

I realize it’s probably like google translate (a wonderfully useful tool if you know how to use it and producer of gibberish if you don’t). As a translator I know how to use it but I can’t summon the interest to learn how to make AI more useful.

    • The ridiculous AI hype is hard to tolerate. And companies like Microsoft and Atlassian shoving it in your face everywhere as well, so I understand.

It does have its uses, but approaching it with a clear set of steps and an understanding of the area you’re working in gets the best results in my experience.
