I pay about $2,000 more a month in taxes in California than I did in Florida. I’m still glad we moved, but Florida has extremely low taxes compared to CA. And it’d be even more taken if I hadn’t dropped my side gig.
The idea that California has lower taxes than Florida or Texas is ludicrous.
