Noah is terrible at economics, but this I agree with this completely. Without nation-states and border enforcement, liberalism is done. That’s even ignoring the feral third world rapist problem. The basic function of a nation is controlling who is a member of that nation so as to not break the polity therein apart completely.

And, mostly, we are failing at that now. Just because something hurts your tiny little feelings doesn’t make it untrue. It just means there are tradeoffs. As there are everywhere and always.
