Amy is right. The numbers speak for themselves. No matter what Noah Smith and clowns like that claim, the essentials of life are vastly more expensive now than they were during the Boomer heyday. It is harder for younger millennials and Gen Z to build wealth, find jobs, live independently and have good lives than for prior generations.
