That’s largely because every mediocre woman has been propagandized to believe they are special fairy sparkle princesses who all deserve Chris Hemsworth and will accept nothing less. The combination of social media and smartphones has really ruined women.
Even an extremely mediocre woman does not find an above average man attractive any longer. I don’t know what can be done about it at this point, though, in practical terms. Looks like everyone will just have to suffer. (Most American men should become passport bros, though.)
I’m reminded of England after WWI where most of the men a generation of women would have married died in trenches in France…
A very large percentage of young women are never getting married or having families and the reality of that has not hit home yet.

There’s a book I read a while ago about that time period (post WWI England) and how strange it was. I wish I could recall the title.
