This is also my own experience. Every time a dog has jumped on me, or nipped me, even drawn blood, it was in the wake of an owner telling me that their dog is well behaved. Dog owners will often insist that their dog is a good dog immediately *after* it has done something to demonstrate that it is poorly trained.

Yep. In a park one time when I was in the army, a guy’s dog charged me (on leash), but close enough to bite. I had to tell the dude that if the dog tried to bite me, I’d kill it.

He then threatened to “fuck me up.” I said I’d be glad to kill him too after I did his dog. He took the dog and left, muttering obscenities.

I fucking hate dog people.
