This is a rant blog, so a lot of you might get the impression that I am unhappy or an ass all the time.

While I am indeed a grumpy person by nature and kind of spiky even on my best days, I am very happy! I hardly ever have a bad day. And that’s because I have a gorgeous, lovely partner that I’ve been with for many years. We own our own place and have no money worries. We do pretty much what we want.

And I have some delightful, fun friends all around the world. More than I ever thought I’d have when I was a misfit and widely (and wildly) hated in rural North Florida.

My life is so, so great. And I am thankful every day.

Here’s a good (horrible?) example of female intrasexual competition. It’s a common one these days, where a woman claims that a man who likes any woman skinnier and more attractive than she is has engaged in “pedophilia.”

The fucking hilarious thing about it is that the object of her compeition is an AI anime character.

I’m no fan of that Grok anime woman but knowing how Japanese animation works, if she were “translated” into a real woman she’d be 21-23 years old. Not a child. Not even a teenager. A full-on adult woman.

That is why this is a darkly funny example of female intrasexual competition — except the competition isn’t even another woman. (And I have a friend in her 20s who has a nearly identical body shape to that Grok AI character. It’s not even that uncommon in countries without raging obesity epidemics.)

What is your experience with dating apps? Because this feels like swiping into the void.

It’s funny when women realize — which they rarely do — what dating as a man is like.

It’s the Great Silence. That is, if you’re not actively being belittled and made fun of, which is also common. Unfortunately for us all, social media and how modern dating works has reinforced the worst tendencies of women more than the worst tendencies of men, so we are where we are.

So glad I am not swimming in that cesspool but I write about it because I remember that hell. And it’s only gotten worse.

Social media has convinced mid-level women that they deserve the top 0.1% of men so that’s all they’ll accept. Which means most men get no interest from anyone at all.

In a way, it’s a return to historical norms. Which isn’t great for anyone, women included. No matter what they think about it.
