Nearly all of the “age gap” nonsense is intrasexual competition. The rest is just jealousy and envy. About 0.00001% (likely less) is concern for anyone’s well-being.

That is, largely, bullshit. You can change your hunger level and satiety settings over time. I know because I did it.

In my past I could easily eat an entire large pizza by myself. I used to do it all the time. Don’t anymore. The absurd idea that self-control is impossible is self-reinforcing into a doom spiral. I’ve seen it too often. And the above nonsense is the common lefty take.

But self-control is possible. And not even hard. It’s muscle you exercise — the more you do it, the better you get at it. Just like anything else. Don’t believe the harmful, self-defeating lies in that tweet.

Even ignoring my feelings about the war, anyone who describes Russia as “winning” is a clownish dumbass.

Russia:

  • Has achieved none of its military objectives
  • Has not made any substantive gains in years
  • Controls nothing important it didn’t already control in 2015
  • Has experienced 1M casualties, including ~250K KIA
  • Is relying on North Korean ammo and personnel
  • Has very little equipment left
  • Probably cannot hold what it has taken long term

Whatever that is, it sure ain’t winning no matter what doofs like Ian Welsh claim.

Every major industry that has been developed anywhere ever has been government-subsidized all the way back to ancient times. It’s funny when idiots are like, “Buh-buh-buh, Tesla gets government subsidies! That makes it faaaaaake!” Or on the right, “Solar power got subsidized! That means it can’t worrrrrrrk!”

Meanwhile, oil companies and auto manufacturing incumbents receive dozens of billions in direct subsidies and tax breaks a year and no one says shit1. Makes no sense. If you object, at least be consistent. But no one any side ever does that. And the clown show continues.
