I don’t know what you do about a country where millions of people believe things that are factually untrue. That aren’t even close to reality.
We’re not talking about opinions here. I mean things like: vaccines are safe and effective. This is a scientific fact beyond question — as much as anything can be. There are thousands of reliable studies of this. Millions and millions of observable outcomes. But that doesn’t matter to people’s feelings about it.
This phenomenon of not believing clearly-demonstrated facts is not unique to the right, of course. They have no monopoly, but certainly the majority of the worst of being fact-proof is now on that side.
There probably is no actual solution to this. Just me grousing. Getting rid of Fox News and similar would help, but even that would only put a small dent in the problem.

This essay isn’t as much degrowther nonsense as I thought it’d be. It still leans that way, but not to the pathological degree that the modern left tends to. You know, the version that would kill billions and cause a regression of 500+ years in societal progress.
But it’s still pretty bad. It’s not even that it gets many points wrong, exactly. It’s just all steering the wrong direction. The modern left has been so stunned and staggered by their recent losses to those that they see as their inferiors that they can’t even think.
I don’t have the energy to write a long-ass essay (or assay) myself this evening, but I will say that in the disavowal of progress and improvement for a focus on fixing things now, the modern left precludes any advancement in the future as well. This essay is, strangely, an example of what it decries: nostalgia for something that can never be and furthermore has never been. It’s a fiction based on a fiction; a dream whose dreamer is deceased.
Relatedly, the left could’ve had Elon Musk on their side. But most of them are not interested in conversions and conversation leading to solidarity. They want vengeance no different than the thug conservatives — they just couch it in squishier language. And here I use “conversion” deliberately because the left’s asseveration and beliefs are as religious in nature as any ecclesiastical evangelism ever seen on this Earth.

How Do
It is a 100% false “fact” that in Vietnam (or anywhere else that has been said about) that 90% of soldiers didn’t fire their weapons to kill. Or as sometimes is heard, at all.
I’ve seen this claim trotted out about WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and other conflicts. But it’s made up. It’s just deceit and delusion. I believe where this faux fact comes from is that it takes a lot of ammo downrange to kill any one hostile. Suppressive fire is most of the fire used in every modern war. By design, by the way. In the Afghanistan war, for instance, there were 250,000 rounds fired for every insurgent killed.
This absurd nonsense gets trotted out about various wars depending on what sort of ideological axe is being ground and it’s just lunacy, for a few reasons but the main one is this: when the enemy is on top of you and you’re in small arms range, you’re often fighting for your life. Even the most pacifist and wilting soldier is going to be tossing whatever they have downrange at any target they can plausibly identify.

Case Logic
Agreed. Women do not in general understand men and men’s culture nearly as well as they like to imagine they do. Mostly, they have no clue while deluding themselves into believing they know everything. I don’t quite understand why, but I know that is the case. The problem is not that they do not comprehend how men’s culture works. It’s that they believe they do and make vast and preventable mistakes because of their misapprehension.
Men do not commit this error. Most just admit they do not understand women or their culture and leave it at that. That is a better end state.
