Why in Zeus’s name would you make something so complex and difficult to deploy when you could just not do that?

You could just use a fixed bus for the solar panels with single-axis heliostats. In other words, put a “curtain” of lightweight mirror strips (heliostats) in front of fixed solar panels. Don’t move the panels, move the mirrors. That way, the motion is minimal (only need a modest rotation range for 23.5° sun variation throughout the year) and don’t need to move a huge structure as the heliostats are extremely low-mass. This minimizes moving parts, doesn’t have whatever crazy shit is going on in that animation that will fail fast and catastrophically, and is not from a design loony bin.

Ima stop you there. The intentions are not, in fact, good. Quite the opposite. How do people write such clownish crap? Do they mean to be this stupid?

The whole idea of passkeys was created to promote vendor lock-in. It had fuck-all to do with user safety or protecting anyone. I just cannot believe the asinine doofy garbage people believe.

The standards women are held to are vastly different than those men are held to. Anyone who denies that is smoking all the crack.

One of the reasons is I am not worried about competition at my level is I have an extremely diverse skill stack, am an expert in 7+ areas, and there is no competition coming up behind me. There is even less now, actually, because AI is hollowing out junior-level roles so the competition that was on the will never emerge. And at the moment, AI can only do about 5% of my role (and even that, poorly).

Destroying the junior to senior pipeline is terrible overall and clownish, but means no one will be taking my job. There simply will be no one left who could do it.

It doesn’t really matter if AI can really do your job or not, it’s so much cheaper they will try it anyway.

Exactly. That’s what so many otherwise smart people do not understand about AI. I am actually not sure how they can be so incredibly naïve about how this will work.

In short, it does not matter if an AI can actually do your job. If an MBA thinks they can string together four mediocre to bad AI agents to do your job for 1/20 the cost and 1/4 the quality, that is what is gonna happen.

It’s already happening. Pretending it’s not is just pure clownery.

Huh! I was told this rocket would never work. Never. That’s what all the good liberals said.

And that’s what they also said about SpaceX’s other rockets nearly a decade-and-a-half ago. Not a great track record, really. The funny part about doing hard things is they often fail a lot in the initial phases.

Get out there and build shit. Ignore the posers, losers, doubters and haters. That’s all you can really do.
