Let’s watch Hanna Reid and her great voice. Well, you can’t watch her voice. Not unless you’ve done quite a bit of LSD. But it’s infinitely more fun than ranting about anti-evidential buttnuggets.

I don’t even like the song all that much, but I fucking love her voice.

The pop world needs more contraltos. Hanna Reid has a brilliant contralto voice. See for yourself.

Great range, too. I didn’t think she’d be able to hit all the notes on that song and have to fudge it, but she got ’em all.

She is very talented. The music industry exploiting her? Ha. Way to deny female agency in choosing her own path. She’s fucking good even if I don’t like most of her pop work.

Check out her cover of Bob Dylan, too. It’s great. I hate Dylan, but she makes this song real. She’s the best modern country singer I know of when she sings that style. Really fantastic.

I’m no fan of the “glowing pregnant woman” trope, but she looks great.

And below Lorde at 12 singing “Use Somebody” (audio only). Overnight successes? Yeah, there’s no such thing. Lorde was already a pro then. She was joining bands of her own accord (parents not pushing her as is the usual case) at ~10. Her precocity reminds me of myself, but she is way more talented than I am.

It also shows her present singing is very much a style (and one that I like). She has superb vocal control and a large range.

The percussion bridge part is fucking amazing.

It’s really good to see so many openly feminist extremely famous women out there now – Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson among them.

You might not think it matters (but you’re wrong). These “mere actresses” like it or not are thought leaders and will influence many millions of women and men who pay attention to them.
