Iโve been watching the show For All Mankind. Much, much better than I thought itโd be.
Spoilers follow.
The scene in this alternative history where the women Apollo astronauts are introduced โ so well-done. No ostentation. The writers and directors just hit you with it, let it be what it is, and that makes it so much more effective than the Spielbergian overemphasis and mawkishness.
Shortly after, thereโs a great follow-up scene where NASA staffers realize the existing spacesuits are only designed for men to be able to urinate while wearing them and not women. The mission commander, after one of the scientists suggests the woman crew member wear a diaper on the week-long journey to the moon says, โNo one on my crew is going to the moon in a damn diaper. This is NASA. Youโre rocket scientists. Figure it out.โ
Just perfect in writing, pacing, direction, all of it.
