True. The Javelin costs a lot more but it basically never misses because it uses much more sophisticated tracking technology as compared to the NLAW. Its hit probability is around 95%. The NLAW hit rate is harder to find, but my guess is that it’s around 80%, decreasing at greater distances.
The Javelin costs about 5x as much, if I remember right, and is heavier. But it has a much greater range and other advantages. Both are good weapons, but the Javelin is a great one.

I’ve gotten in this argument with people before. Some define “lockdown” as “you die in your apartment because you can’t get food” as the only true lockdown. Some define it as “you can only go out once a day.” Some define it as “you can only go out once a week for an hour.” I think any significant restriction where most places are closed counts as lockdown and most of the US did experience that. Most of the UK did for 9 months or longer. Lockdown only works well in certain narrow circumstances, though. It’s not magic and it’s not a long-term solution.

No matter what cracksmoking assclownery Ian Welsh claims about the Russian invasion plans, it was clear from their build-up and attack approach that they intended to reach and take Kyiv easily in a week or so. Didn’t work out.
