One of the biggest myths about evolution is that every trait, feature and behavior has some purpose. But no, they do not. Many are just spandrels. To get more colloquial, there is a lot of “slop” in evolution and what it produces. The habit of fidgeting doesn’t have to be for anything, or even occur evolutionarily as the result of anything quantifiable directly.

I’m not sick of it yet, but it’s certainly true that IT is the only field where you have to learn approximately a bachelor’s degree worth of knowledge every 2-3 years. You’re always running as fast as you can to stand still. And usually not even managing that.
Note that I am not saying that other fields don’t require learning. They do. But nothing compared to IT, where new technologies are often introduced, become ubiquitous, and then enter obsolescence in five years.
It does wear on one after a while.

Anyway, supermodels aren’t what the vast majority of straight men find the most attractive. I thought Aella would know this? Supermodels are picked for being unusual-looking and statuesque as much as being hot qua hot. And “hottest women in the world” lists are nearly all assembled by women and gay men. Straight men have little to no input and so those lists do not match male preferences in the least. How does Aella not realize these things, as smart as she is?
Scarlett Johansson in her 20s would be an an example of what most men1 would claim as the pinnacle of female attractiveness and though she’s very beautiful, her physique and even face do not look like the typical supermodel’s.
And there’s a reason for that.
