I agree. Nearly all the skills Iโ€™ve mastered over the years itโ€™s because Iโ€™ve thought, I wonder what happens if I do this and then just done it. Mostly, this has been in the field of enterprise IT infrastructure because that is my career, but is true in many other areas as well.

Someone once asked me how I got so good at so many areas of IT, and I told them, โ€œItโ€™s because Iโ€™ve broken literally anything that can be broken and then had to fix it.โ€ Being curious leads to poking things until they break. Fixing them leads to knowledge and mastery.
