Homemade masks — note that we are not talking about surgical masks here, which definitely offer protection — do offer some protection from wearer and to wearer. Not nearly as much as proper medical-grade masks, but when you’re talking about nothing and better than that, a smart person takes “better than that.”

Why are so many people so invested in essentially lying to everyone? What is the overarching purpose of these fabrications?
