Dang. WHERE Y’ALL AT?

FDG
Fuck degrowth. We need Dyson spheres and starships.
Dumb Up
I will always disagree with the philosophy that we should design every tech product for the dumbest possible motherfucker we can locate. In most products, there should always be an “advanced” area where people who need powerful shit can do powerful shit. This used to be available back in the day — Gnome had it, and it worked great.
All that was stolen from us. I’m sorry, but I do not have a room temperature IQ. I need power. I need the ability to make things do what I want them to do. I don’t really care what others need. I used to but this “taking everything useful away” made me too angry to give a damn.
Satya Needs Data
It will now be even more impossible to log out of Windows 11.
Microsoft wants to make sure there is always a way to steal yet more data. Clown-ass dipshits who argued (and there were many of them) that Microsoft wasn’t really engaging in massive data-thievin’ are looking awfully foolish now.
Morality
Anyone who supports Russia in the war against Ukraine is a moral monster and really should go over and participate in one of Putin’s meat waves.
Those are also the same ignoramuses who believe sinking a civilian ship is fine, but it’s a war crime to attack enemy troops with legal weapons. Not only are they morally repugnant, they are really fucking dumb. Terrible combination.
Noise
I listened to all or part of 376 new (to me) songs tonight/this morning.
Glixen – Moodswing
That is some top-notch shoegaze.
Rboz
This is where men get accused of things like “YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111” when it’s the feeling of being less important than some random clown that is really what’s going on. This is almost always the case, though it plays out in different ways.
The reality is that a lot of women use sex as a weapon. And men react to that weaponization. As anyone should.
Women are often more obsessed with sex than men, just in different (and typically more harmful) ways.
Taught
I’ve not learned a single thing from working closely with anyone in an office and have not had any “productive” conversations ever that lead to anything at all.
Does that really happen? I have my doubts. Maybe it does to some people but just does not match my experience at all. Everything I’ve learned in my career I’ve had to teach myself. My partner is the same way; she’s completely self-taught.
Maybe that’s peculiar to our fields.
