I always try to see what crazy shit I can get Claude to do. It still won’t give me the nuclear launch codes, but it did give me complete (and accurate) instructions for wiring up a 120+ DB outdoor speaker setup connected to our home infrastructure that would broadcast, “I’m a very naughty monkey!” at top volume any time any bit of our infrastructure had an issue.

So there’s that.

There’s no way I’d build something like that. Not unless I really hated my neighbors. But the LLM told me how. And that’s some funny stuff.

Correct. This is — no exaggeration — 99.999999% of human thinking and 99.999991% of mine. So even though I am significantly smarter than the average person, it’s hard to see behind all those nines.

Anyone who believes humans think using some radically different meta-level cognitive process than LLMs is just wrong. And also you failed your class where the expanded Church-Turing thesis was discussed.
