Sure, it’s a soft police state, but with censorship now fully invading the internet (seizure of backpage.com, etc.), the existence and activities of ICE and the DOHS, the police’s “Shoot first, never ask questions” de facto doctrine, there’s no doubt we live in a police state. Yeah, it might be soft and squishy with a nougat center, but it’s a police state, and getting worse.

Just because other police states were for more abominable doesn’t make this one somehow great.
