I have a theory that everyone consumed a piece of media between 9-13 years old that is the foundation of their entire worldview. Everything they learnt since was stacked on top of this. It's a great dinner question to ask people.

I wouldn’t say it’s the foundation completely, but for me this was watching MTV in general. MTV showed me there was a less closed-minded, freer, better world that I too would be able participate in when I could escape from Lake City, Florida.

And there was. And I did. Go me.
