Yes, this seems to be a weird and mostly-unrecognized human cognitive flaw that even very smart people are prone to. Or should I say, โsmart.โ It can be seen most notably with Y2K but it occurs often.
If procedures occur to forestall the occurrence of a problem, the vast majority then conclude that those measures were unnecessary! How your brain can be this broken I donโt understand, yet here we are.
