How You Do Policy

Indeed. Worldwide ROI on that (including kicking off viable electric vehicles) is in the +$2 trillion neighborhood, and rapidly increasing. And that’s how you do it if you want to win.

From ’89

Hidden engineering.

Not that long before this was written in 1989, all of it was “nerd fantasy.” But now, more than 30 years later, just about all of the engineering written about there — which would’ve seemed impossible to someone from 1889 — is obsolete tech. It’s all been replaced by better and much cheaper, safer and more reliable hardware to achieve the same result.

I hate pseudo-progressives and degrowthers so so much.

Using the Tool

I wrote a right-click (context menu) search extension with the help of AI in 25-ish hours of work and prompting that would’ve taken me 500+ hours to complete on my own, and for a competent programmer probably would’ve been in the 150 hour range.

Huge returns if you know what you’re doing.

My tool has more features, a better UI, is more extensible and is easier to use than any other similar extension out there. It’s not even close. Mine is just better by every measure that matters. And there’s no way I would’ve bothered to create it without AI.

Trust

Cool. I really hope Poland doesn’t cede all this to Islamoleftism and allow unrestricted Islamic immigration. It’ll ruin their entire society and perhaps the last redoubt of Western civilization.

Extent

With the help of (mostly) ChatGPT, I’ve now created 12 Firefox add-ons. They do exactly what I want them to do and help me every day. Sans ChatGPT, I could’ve eventually created them all, of course. They are not technically out of my reach, given enough time. However, I spent a total of about 18 hours or so on those add-ons. If I’d had to write all the code myself (and again, I am a bad programmer), I never would’ve done so as it would’ve taken me 300-500 hours. Huge difference.

In other words, ChatGPT allowed me to create 12 extensions that make my life noticeably better that even if I were technically capable of doing so without that tool, in practical terms I never would’ve done it due to the high time cost.

And that my friends is what we call a win.
