Philo Cabinet

It’s been quite amusing the past few years to see people with zero philosophical grounding poorly and ineptly attempt to recapitulate and regenerate all of Western philosophy. And utterly fail at it.

Unlike math (which does not), philosophy makes you smarter and better at reasoning in every area. It’s probably why the STEM folks largely hate it. Well, one of the reasons. The others are that it’s difficult, does not have definite answers, and takes a lot longer to feel confident in than math.

I’m so glad I found philosophy books in the library when I was about 8 or 9. That made so much difference to the rest of my life.

Bluesky is one of the worst places I’ve ever seen, and I used to spend time on 4Chan. It’s like there they all attempt to find the most delusional, most reality-free position and then hold it with absolute conviction.

I cannot tell parody from belief there. But they don’t understand parody nor satire on that site, so it’s not that.
